Originally from Redmond, Washington, he studied modern European history while at Yale, focusing on the intersection of politics and nationalism in Central Europe and its international ramifications. Tristan also served as Executive Director for the Yale International Relations Association and participated in the Yale Political Union. He has worked as an Assistant Editor at openDemocracy.net in London, and as Senior Manager of The Trolley Stop, a student-run eatery on campus. As a Fox Fellow, Tristan plans to focus his research on the German far-right during the 1920s, especially its responses to the changed international situation after the first World War. In his free time, Tristan enjoys cycling, cheese tastings, and international cinema.
