Shaleen Khanal is  a PhD Candidate in the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at National University of Singapore. His research focuses on political economy of innovation policies, particularly inequalities associated with R&D policies. His dissertation investigates how institutions shape innovation decisions and outcomes in public organizations. His work is motivated by his extensive experience in policy research and policy design in Nepal where he worked with government bodies and multilateral agencies in areas of R&D and intellectual property rights. Shaleen completed his master’s from Jawaharlal Nehru University where he studied economics.
