Sport and Mega Event Politics in the Globalized World of the 21St Century
Sevecen Tunc Guney is a PhD candidate in the Ataturk Institute for Modern Turkish History at Bogazici University and a 2014-2015 Fox International Fellow at Yale University, where she is refining her research on the role of sports mega events in International Relations. She holds a BA in Economics and a MA in Modern Turkish History from Bogazici University. For her MA thesis, she worked on the historical development of soccer in the city of Trabzon in Turkey. After graduation, this project was published in Iletisim Publishing House series on soccer. She writes on the social history of Turkish soccer for academic and popular journals.
