Class-Based Cleavage within the Kurdish National Movement: Explaining Changes in Societal and State Engagment

Ronay Bakan is a Ph.D. Student in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Bogazici University. Her research interests include politics of space, social movements, gender studies and Kurdish issue in Turkey and Turkish politics. Her master thesis is titled “Rethinking Urban Transformation and Contested Spaces: The Case of Diyarbakır”. She has previously worked as a research assistant in Political Science. In addition, during her undergraduate years she was an active member of Bogazici University Women Studies Club. Since 2015, she acts as the advisor of the club. Concurrently, she works in the journal of Feminist Approaches in Culture and Politics which is a peer-reviewed feminist journal.
