Can Small Island States Achieve Energy Security: An Assessment of Caribbean Policy Initiatives

Milagros De Camps is a Yale Fox International Fellow researching energy security, climate change and sustainable development in islands at the National university of Singapore. She is particularly interested in understanding the challenges of renewable energy adoption and the policies needed to stimulate an energy systems transformation towards a low carbon future and climate resilient economies for small island developing states. Milagros received a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, which she attended as a Fulbright Scholar. She focused her studies on energy and climate policy. She holds a JD from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra and an LL.M. from Boston University. Prior to her arrival at Yale, Milagros was a practicing attorney in her native country in the areas of corporate and energy law and Professor of Corporate Law. She co-founded the Dominican Business Council for Sustainable Development.
