The Politics of Neutrality : Theories and Practices of Diversity Blindness Through the Lens of Emancipation

Lila Braunschweig is a PhD candidate and teaching fellow in political science at Sciences Po Paris. Her dissertation looks at the different forms taken by the principle of neutrality in political theories, public policies and social movements and seeks to offer a reconstruction of the concept as an emancipatory perspective for marginalized social groups. She holds a BA in social sciences and a master’s degree in political theory from Sciences Po Paris. Before choosing a research track, she took several courses on public affairs and public policies and has been involved in the cultural and education sectors. In her future professional life, Lila is committed to enhance the collaboration between scholars and policy makers on questions of women and minorities’ rights, social justice and education.
