Kunhyui Kim is a Ph.D. candidate at Waseda University and Research Associate at the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA). His research explores both theoretical and empirical models on the impact of non-tariffs on international trade. Currently, he focuses on the role of Non-tariff Measures (NTMs) on both the quality of goods imported and the margins of international trade; differentiated products and the growth of same products. He examines the research by constructing a bilateral NTM vector utilizing newly aggregated NTM data from UNCTAD-ERIA TRAINS database. Kunhyui holds a Bachelor’s in international liberal studies and a Master’s degree in international studies, both from Waseda University. He is also a Learning Assistant at the Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies at Waseda University.
