Jamie Chan graduated from Yale College with a B.A. in Anthropology. Her undergraduate coursework focused on environmental justice, empire and colonialism, capitalism and culture, and the Anthropocene. For her senior thesis, she explored how communities in southern Louisiana are resisting the narrative that it is too late to save their homes and lifeways from climate change, which won the department’s Edward Sapir prize. At Yale, she was active in the Yale Student Environmental Coalition and the Environmentalists of Color Collective. Jamie hopes to pursue her interests in disaster studies and resilience justice in the future through climate adaptation work. Jamie is originally from Hong Kong.
