The Implications of Chinese Investment in Europe for the Sustainability of the European Social Model

Fil graduated from Yale College in May 2014, where his studies focused on European political economy and the challenge of governance in a globalized age. While at Yale he was President of the Yale European Undergraduates and a member of both the Yale Debate Association and the Model United Nations Team. He has worked for the European Commission on tax transparency legislation, as an assistant editor at openDemocracy.net, and at Yale's Office of Sustainability on reducing campus waste. As a Fox Fellow, he plans to develop his Senior Thesis research on Chinese management of the Port of Piraeus by investigating more broadly the spatial dimensions and governance implications of China s geopolitical rise. In his free time Fil enjoys hiking in his Vibrams, practicing his Chinese characters, and slavishly reading anything by Murakami.
