Alec Walker

Alec Walker is a PhD student in Yale’s History Department. He is interested in modern European intellectual history, the history of capitalism, and contemporary issues in international political economy. His dissertation project analyzes the relationship between nation-states and European institutions through an analysis of the ideas and policies of the German left from the 1960s to the present. At Yale, Alec has worked to foster critical historical dialogues on contemporary issues. He is the co-convener of the Approaches to Recent and Contemporary History working group and has served as the co-coordinator of the Global and International History Workshop for the past three years. Prior to coming to Yale, Alec taught world history at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. He previously served as a Fulbright Fellow in Dresden, Germany.
