Project Title:
Islamic revivalism and political community in Accra
Charlotte Bednarski is an MA student in African Studies at Yale University. Her research interests include Islamic revivalism and Islam and politics in West Africa. She has conducted ethnographic fieldwork in Dakar, Senegal and Bamako, Mali, and her MA thesis will analyze party formation, political organization, and the intersection of religious and political authority in Mali during the current transitional period. Charlotte is the graduate student representative for the MA program in African Studies, and she is also a producer on the podcast AFROFILES.
