Amnesties: The Memory of Violence and the Oblivion of Law

Andrés Caro is from Bogotá, Colombia, where he studied law and literature. After college, he worked in Government during the negotiation of the peace deal between the State and the FARC guerrillas. Afterwards, he moved to the US to study. He holds a M.A. from the University of Chicago and an LLM from Yale Law School. His academic interests lie in the intersection of law, the humanities, and the history of ideas. He has topical interests in post-war societies and non-State peaceful arrangements. During the 2020-2021, he will be a Fox Fellow in the Universidad de San Andrés, in Argentina, where he will research the response to violence and dictatorship from literature and the arts.
