Going Local. How Does Community Organization Foster Responsiveness in Municipal Policy? An Ethnographic Approach
Esteban Salmon Perrilliat is a Bachelors degree student in Political Sciences and Public Administration at El Colegio de Mexico and a 2014/15 Fox International Fellow at Yale University. His current ethnographic research tries to give account of how traditional political institutions interact with recently democratized municipal government by means of popular assemblies and direct democracy. His main intellectual interests are political ethnography, municipal governance and the interdependencies between local order and national transformations. He has worked as literacy teacher for adults and as the editor of his home university s student journal.
