Populism and the Democratic Dilemma: Observations on the rise of Donald Trump

Duan Zheng is a PhD candidate at Fudan University School of Philosophy. His research focuses on questions of political theory. Currently, he is examining the concept and phenomena of populism through a discursive lens. While in Yale, he wishes to examine his theoretical constructions through application to the case of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Duan has published in the field of urban studies, and holds a BA in communication from Fudan University.
